The Role:
As a part of the Launch Team, you will have responsibility for the implementation and execution of the Launch Deliverables for Production and Maintenance. This position will require fostering teamwork and communication between different functions and shifts. The work is of a technical nature using independent judgement within the limits of GMS; focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). There is a need to be able to deal with complex problems and lead continuous improvement projects, while scheduling to meet important deadlines and build dates.
What You'll Do:
Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for Ergonomics and Health & SafetyWork closely with the Execution Team to develop the plan for all upgrades and buildsWork closely with cross functional teams to implement GMSParticipate cross-functionally to achieve Launch Deliverables for Maintenance and Production.Implement Operational Readiness and create plan for 100% completion by Start of Regular ProductionCommunicate between different shifts/departments/functionsDrive Continuous Improvement initiatives to establish run at rate deliverablesValidate Manufacturing and Quality processes during LaunchBuilds and maintains good working relationships with employees, union, and managementLead the maintenance and repair of plant equipment and facilities aligned with standard GM maintenance systems.Maintain awareness of quality standards, and communicate department quality goals, and leverages resources to solve quality issues.Conduct appropriate checks and tests and communicates evaluation of results. Responsible for preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions,Recommend solutions to problems and meets schedule and quality requirements in addition to the following responsibilities.Participate in the selection of new employees and hold responsibility for the training, development and evaluation of salaried and hourly employees, as well as the development of highly effective teamsImplement divisional and corporate policies, safety and good housekeeping practicesCoach, teach, counsel and mentor Group Leaders in these responsibilities.Lead technical guidance for complex and unusual plant operations or projectsYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
3 years previous Manufacturing experienceAbility to work / rotate through all 3 shifts (1st, 2nd & 3rd)Ability to work over-time, weekends, holidays, etc. as neededKnowledge of quality control procedures, manufacturing processes and management systems as they relate to production operationsHigh level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficultHigh level of oral and written communication skillsExperience working in a cross functional team environmentAbility to travel domestically and internationally 10% of the time or higher based on business needs.What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
