STS Technical Services is hiring a Laser Nester in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this critical role, you will support the heartbeat of the plant by programming jobs for eight different cutting machines, including Amada Fiber Lasers, turret punch presses, and plasma cutting tables. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can problem-solve creatively, and understands how to optimize cutting performance and material usage through precise nesting strategies.

Key Responsibilities Organize and prepare CAD files received from design engineers Use SigmaNest software to create cutting packages that Maximize material utilization Increase use of remnants Select optimal available stock Keep eight cutting machines balanced and organized based on machine capabilities and material properties Solve production-related challenges through effective nesting processes Select machine and tooling configurations for cost-effective part manufacturing Respond to rework requests in a timely and professional manner Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and support key production priorities and deadlines
Job Requirements Proven experience using SigmaNest software Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office platforms Experience operating CNC equipment that cuts sheet or plate metal (preferred) Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks (preferred) Understanding of metal cutting, dimensional tolerancing, tooling, and cutting geometry Must pass a competency test and pre-employment physical including drug screening
