Laser Etch Technician I - 2nd or 3rd Shift - Warsaw
Laser Etch Technician I **Position Summary** The Laser Etch Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining laser cutting, engraving, and marking machines. They must ensure that each machine is performing safely and accurately, while also troubleshooting and repairing any issues that arise. They must also be able to interpret customer specifications, program the machines accordingly, and provide test samples to customers. The Laser Technician must be knowledgeable in the operation and maintenance of the machines, have excellent communication and customer service skills, and able to work with a variety of materials. **Principle Responsibilities** + Validates parameters for the machines. + Upload into revision control retrieval program + Import computer files as needed.   +  Program different features. + Set-up laser equipment according to blueprint specifications and precise measurements.   Run parts on the laser to meet specifications. +  Utilize micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments to perform measurements when making set-ups and to ensure that parts meet specifications.   + Work to improve set-up methods to improve productivity and quality. **Qualification Requirements** **Credentials/Experience:** + High School diploma or general education degree + One to six months experience or training. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** + Ability to accurately use calipers, micrometers, and other required measuring instruments. + Ability to read blueprints and calculate dimensions. + Knowledge of computers and ability to perform necessary computer functions. + Ability to work independently and perform highly accurate work. + Ability to read and follow written procedures. + Ability to organize effectively and complete all paperwork accurately. + Ability to communicate effectively with others and work well under pressure. ** ** **Other Requirements** **Work Environment** The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
