What will I be doing? 

Landscaping Supervisor serving Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi is responsible to assist the Landscaping Manager to oversee the smooth and efficient operation of the landscaping section within the Engineering Department, ensuring the resort’s lush gardens and outdoor areas are presented to the standards of Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi. Responsible for maintaining the beauty, elegance, and luxury presentation of the property’s landscapes, creating an environment that enhances the guest experience and reflects the unique character of the island. Foster a positive and motivated team culture, ensuring exceptional performance and professionalism in line with Hilton’s guest satisfaction objectives and the resort’s business and strategic goals. Specifically, as the Engineering Coordinator will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

Supervise landscaping operations, ensuring gardens, pathways, pool surroundings, beach areas, and nursery plants are maintained to luxury presentation standards.

Lead, train, and motivate the landscaping team, conducting daily briefings, monitoring performance, and ensuring punctuality, hygiene, and grooming.

Foster a positive team culture and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and Hilton properties.

Oversee maintenance requests, log records, and provide weekly updates and progress reports to the Landscaping Manager.

Ensure effective pest control, soil and beach erosion prevention, and scheduled maintenance of trees, plants, and fertilizers.

Manage inventory, stock levels, spare parts, fertilizers, and chemicals, coordinating with the Purchasing Department as required.

Monitor roster planning, vacations, and off-days to maximize productivity and efficiency within the landscaping team.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, and environmental policies, taking corrective action when required.

Support energy- and cost-saving initiatives by suggesting and implementing sustainable landscaping practices.

Communicate effectively with guests, colleagues, and management, handling queries and complaints diplomatically.

Promote resort services and facilities, enhancing the luxury guest experience through proactive service.

Provide accurate forecasts, updates, and records relating to landscaping operations and departmental targets.

Assist Engineering leadership with HR-related matters, training, and development of landscaping staff.

Act as the point of responsibility for the Landscaping Department in the absence of the Landscaping Manager.

Uphold Waldorf Astoria brand standards, grooming guidelines, and company values to ensure consistent guest satisfaction

Diploma or higher-level qualification related to Landscaping or Administration.

3 to 5 years of experience in Landscaping or related professional area.

Strong functional skills and ability to operate and successfully arbitrate in a complex international and multicultural environment.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

Good planning and execution skills with ability to be persistent while focusing on detailed elements of tasks.

Excellent time management, organizational, communication and motivational skills.

Have impeccable follow-through.

Candidate must have a good command of spoken and written English.
