As a member of the Trust Land Management Division, this position aids in administering programs related to the management of approximately 3.4 million acres of State Trust Land. This Lands Management Specialist position assists the Senior Lands Management Specialist in carrying out the Grazing and Agricultural Leasing Program tasks. This position helps issue annual rentals, manage lease renewals, assignments, sub-leases, security interests, vault files/database, lease vacant trust land, and other duties as directed for over 4,000 grazing and agricultural leases. This position works directly with the public, assisting them with document preparation, form submission, and providing information about the Office of State Lands and Investments’ scope of work. This position is located in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Cheyenne is a full-service community home to over 60,000 residents. Cheyenne is near four-season outdoor recreation areas, including the Snowy Range, and the Medicine Bow National Forest, and home to world-class rock climbing at Vedauwoo. Also, the location provides convenient access to the Colorado Front Range communities, including Fort Collins, Denver, and Denver International Airport. Wyoming is one of only seven states with no state income tax. Human Resource Contact: Ryan Scheer / ryan.scheer2@wyo.gov/ 307-777-8570 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level. + Assist in receiving, analyzing, researching, and processing grazing and agricultural leases. + Assist in interpreting legal documents, providing analysis of leasehold interests, researching chain of title, determining acreage, calculating Animal Unit Months (AUMs), determining rental fund distribution and fees, writing and plotting legal descriptions from available data, providing verification of corporate status, composing detailed correspondence and reports, and preparing lease documents and files. + Assist in collecting excess rental, and request new sublease agreements for terminating contracts + Record and release financial security interests + Receive and provide administrative support for the construction of improvement applications + Coordinate inspections with the Field Services Division + Utilize and update internal database systems to manage leases, collect annual rentals, and maintain internal records + Assist in implementing divisional programs for the Trust Land Management Division under supervision to reach Division goals and objectives + Compose and track correspondence and matters for the Board of Land Commissioners' consideration + Provide technical assistance and explain the departmental policy to the general public on matters concerning grazing and agricultural leasing and State Trust Land management + Resolve problems as appropriate Qualifications PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS: **All applicants must provide a resume as an attachment to the application.
