**As a Gas Technician with us the minimum responsibilities are:**
+ Monitor and maintain components of field equipment to ensure safe and efficient performance.
+ Perform daily operations throughout the gas collection field including monitoring, inspecting, cleaning, repairing, and maintaining systems and equipment pertaining to gas collection wells throughout the landfill.
+ Troubleshoot and restart equipment after unscheduled shutdowns or trips (mechanical, electrical, electronic, and plumbing).
+ Collect, record, and analyze performance data.
+ Collect, record, and report leachate levels in Landfill Gas collection wells
+ Conduct routine and non-routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
+ Operate forklifts and man lifts as required.
+ Inspect and examine machinery to detect potential failures and prevent unplanned downtime.
+ Close work orders and document completed tasks
+ Order necessary parts, supplies, and tools.
+ Perform snow removal and deicing around field equipment.
+ Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
**_This position is mainly field work (80%) and requires our Gas Technician to work outdoors in all weather conditions to maintain and monitor field equipment._**
**What We Need From You:**
+ A strong mechanical inclination and a hands‑on, “fix‑it” mindset.
+ A commitment to working safely and addressing potential hazards proactively.
+ 2+ years of experience in technical, mechanical, or maintenance work (or equivalent technical training).
+ An ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Must be comfortable working on outdoor equipment in all weather conditions.
+ Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and an openness to building new technical skills.
+ Willing to join an on‑call rotation (about one week per month) and remain within 30 minutes of the site during on‑call weeks.
