Landfill Gas Technician – Oakdale, LA Schedule: 100% outdoor role • Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM • On‑call nights & weekends Waste Connections is seeking a hands‑on, safety‑focused **Landfill Gas Technician** to join our team in **Oakdale, LA** . This role is fully outdoors and requires working in all weather conditions. You’ll be part of a small, skilled team responsible for maintaining and optimizing the landfill gas collection and control system (GCCS) that supports safe and compliant landfill operations. Key Responsibilities + Install, repair, and maintain landfill gas system components in the field + Pull, clean, and service pumps according to the preventive maintenance schedule + Perform well‑field valve and vacuum adjustments to ensure proper system performance + Run and fuse poly pipe as needed for system expansions or repairs + Calibrate, operate, and maintain electronic monitoring and data‑collection equipment + Respond to after‑hours GCCS alarms or malfunctions on an on‑call rotation + Complete additional duties as assigned to support landfill operations Working Conditions & Physical Requirements + Work is performed entirely outdoors, year‑round, in all weather conditions + Frequent exposure to dirt, odors, uneven terrain, and other landfill‑related elements + Requires strenuous physical activity, including lifting, pushing, and pulling items over 50 lbs. + Regular walking, bending, climbing, and working on slopes or rough ground + Requires attention to detail, taking extensive notes and effectively communicating with supervisor.
