**Description** **The Best Teams are Created and Maintained Here.** **Job Summary** + The Surveyor is a key technical expert responsible for the advanced analysis and interpretation of survey data used to drive strategic decision making on landscape construction projects. This role not only performs precise field measurements using cutting-edge surveying instruments but also exercises significant autonomy in evaluating complex site plans and engineering drawings. The surveyor leverages advanced data analytics and digital tools to generate actionable insights, ensuring design feasibility and enhancing project outcomes. This position requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting, a deep technical understanding of surveying methods, and confidence to make decisions that directly impact project execution. **Duties and Responsibilities:** + Utilize specialized instruments—including GPS, total stations, and laser levels—to obtain precise measurements. + Perform advanced data analytics to interpret complex survey data, providing strategic recommendations for landscape design and construction. + Interpret and critically evaluate site plans, blueprints, BIM, and CAD drawings to assess project feasibility and identify design enhancements. + Exercise autonomous decision-making in resolving project issues related to alignment, grading, and drainage. + Lead survey analysis by integrating field data with digital mapping tools to produce accurate topographical surveys and as-built drawings. + Maintain comprehensive, digitally archived records of survey results, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for stakeholders. + Collaborate with project managers, designers, and technical experts to share insights that inform critical project decisions. + Clearly communicate technical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences. + Uphold/monitor safety standards and regulatory requirements during both fieldwork and office-based analysis. + Proactively identify/resolve technical issues during survey activities and field operations. + Recommend improvements to surveying processes and equipment usage based on data-driven insights. **Education and Experience:** + Bachelor’s degree in construction science, construction management, land surveying, or a related field is preferred. + Professional Surveyor License (PLS) Required. Relevant certifications in surveying or landscape construction are required, underscoring advanced technical expertise. + Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in land surveying, preferably within a construction or landscaping environment, with demonstrable experience in advanced survey data analysis. + Hands-on experience with modern surveying instruments (GPS, total stations, laser levels) and digital mapping software. + Proficiency in CAD/BIM software for creating and interpreting complex survey data. + Demonstrated ability to perform advanced data analytics to support decision-making. + Ability to work independently. + Strong understanding of boundary laws, topography, and land use regulations. + Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints and engineering plans. + Bilingual skills (Spanish) and customer service experience are a plus. **Physical Demands/Requirements:** + Ability to walk, stand, and navigate various terrains, including uneven surfaces. + Proficient use of hands and fingers for operating surveying equipment and tools. + Capability to lift and carry equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds. + Endurance to work long hours in varying weather conditions. + Good eyesight for distinguishing colors/accurately reading instruments, plans, and maps. + Ability to maintain balance while working on slopes or uneven surfaces. + Comfort in kneeling, bending, or crawling to set up equipment or take measurements. + Strong hand-eye coordination for precise measurement taking and equipment handling. **Work Environment:** + Work is primarily performed outdoors on various landscapes, including commercial and public properties, with exposure to diverse weather conditions. + Active collaboration on construction sites where technical expertise and safety compliance is paramount. + Flexibility to operate in both urban and rural settings, adapting to different types of terrain and site conditions. + A balance of fieldwork and office-based analysis, requiring advanced technical skills and decision-making authority. + Consistent use of advanced surveying technology while adhering to stringent safety standards and regulations. **_BrightView Landscapes, LLC is an Equal Opportunity and E-Verify Employer._** **_This job description is subject to change at any time._** **Compensation Pay Range:** $90,000.00 to $120,000.00 **_BrightView offers a suite or health, wellness, and financial benefits to full-time team members.
