Land Planner Intern

Job Description:

Overview:

The Land Planner Intern supports project teams under the guidance of a Senior Land Planner, contributing to the design and planning of residential, commercial, and site development projects. This internship offers hands-on experience with conceptual planning, graphics preparation, and zoning research in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

∙ Assist with the creation of base sheets, city submittals, and zoning ordinance research.

∙ Learn to identify and interpret base map elements such as property boundaries, topography, aerial imagery, easements, right-of-way (ROW) dedications, floodplains, street names, city limits, and ETJ lines.

∙ Support the development of concept sketches and graphics using AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and SketchUp.

∙ Coordinate with engineering, design, and production teams to support project goals and meet deadlines.

Qualifications:

∙ Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.

∙ Familiarity with land planning principles, techniques, and procedures.

∙ Exposure to design and visualization tools including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Bluebeam, and SketchUp.

∙ Basic understanding of geometry and spatial relationships.

∙ Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.

∙ Effective written and verbal communication skills.

∙ Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities and deadlines.
