Summary Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Responsibilities Incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the Vehicle Storage Lot, Personal Storage Units, Car Wash, and Vending Machines located at MCAS Miramar are maintained, clean, and in working condition. This position reports to the Services Director. Major Duties: Responsible for inspecting the Vehicle Storage Lot and Personal Storage Units from a maintenance and safety perspective (Driver's license is required). Ensures perimeter fencing for both vehicle storage lots are secure, inspects area around stored vehicles for leaking fluids or hazardous substances, takes note of potential maintenance/safety concerns and notifies supervisor immediately of issues/concerns. Responsible for emptying trash cans, performing light maintenance duties, and minor repairs. May be required to cut locks and clean out abandoned storage units. Drives motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of up to 10,000 pounds throughout an installation under limited traffic conditions at low speeds. Responsible for inspection of the MCX Car Wash to include car wash tunnel, vacuum systems, and general appearance of the area. Inspects car wash mechanical and electrical components, fills detergent and wax as needed, notifies supervisor immediately if car wash is inoperable. Responsible for emptying trash cans, performing light maintenance duties, and minor repairs. May be responsible for collecting funds from MCX Car Wash operations. May be asked to assist in the restocking of windshield cleaning supplies (towels, water, etc.) and emptying of trash cans at the MCX Gas Stations. Must adhere wear appropriate PPE as required by base safety and OSHA. Escorts vending machine companies onto Flightline to service, stock, and perform general maintenance on vending machines. Must maintain Flightline driver¿s license credentials by adhering to driving rules and regulations. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as required. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications Skills and Knowledge: Basic skill sufficient to start, stop, and back-up a motor vehicle. Knowledge of the height, width, length, and weight of vehicle to operate safely. Ability to read and understand installation maps and other locator documents for finding various buildings and facilities. Ability to load and arrange cargo to prevent shifting, falling, and breakage. Driver's license is required. Responsibility: Works with specific oral and written instructions. Worker is called upon to use continual care, due to the nature of tools and equipment used. After receipt of instructions, worker may complete duties involving several distinct tasks or steps independently. Physical Effort: Light to moderate effort is required in bending, stooping, and lifting. Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs. independently and objects over 45 lbs. with assistance. Working Conditions: Works both inside and outside and occasionally is exposed to bad weather conditions. Drives in all types of weather. Indoor working conditions may expose the worker to drafts, noise, dust and dirt and require standing on concrete floors. The tools, equipment, and heavy objects involved occasionally present chances of serious injury.
