Job Description

Join our team as a Laborer, where you will engage in a variety of site preparation tasks throughout the year. Your responsibilities will include shoveling, irrigation, landscaping, and preparing construction sites for concrete trades using heat blankets and hydronic surface heaters. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that carpenters and skilled contractors can perform their tasks without distraction by maintaining the site and supporting various activities.

Responsibilities

Perform site preparation tasks such as shoveling, irrigation, and landscaping.Utilize heat blankets and hydronic surface heaters for construction site preparation.Assist in thawing frozen ground, curing concrete, and preventing frost.Provide temporary heat and shovel snow as needed.Support carpenters and skilled contractors by minimizing distractions on site.

Essential Skills

1+ years of experience in construction.1+ years of experience as a laborer.1+ years of experience in material handling using hand tools.Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

1+ years of experience working outside in cold conditions.

Work Environment

The work is based at the Byron Center, Michigan, with first shift hours from 6:00 AM to 2:30/3:00 PM, Monday to Friday. You will work 45+ hours per week, starting your day by meeting the crew lead at the shop no later than 5:45 AM. Expect to work in cold environments daily, requiring waterproof boots and warm clothing, preferably Carhartt gear. Bring extra dry clothes, socks, and your own lunch, snacks, and beverages. Be prepared to work in all weather conditions and follow directions well.

This is a Contract position based out of Byron Center, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
