Volt is immediately hiring for Laboratory Technician in Madera, CA 

As a Laboratory Technician you will be doing the following: 

Fungicide residue analysis & REPORTING Fruit and solution residue analyses are conducted accurately and on time, following the appropriate procedures. Results are prepared and routed per procedure.    Glassware and equipment is washed and readied for the next sampling period. Any changes to procedures and schedules are discussed with JBT management prior to being implemented. Results from analyses, and any other requested data, are entered into an electronic notebook on a daily basis.  Standard curves and accuracy checks for residue procedures are completed as scheduled. Routine maintenance is conducted on the gas chromatograph and other equipment per procedure and schedule. Laboratory maintenance & SUPPORT  Reagents and standards are stocked and their integrity is carefully maintained. Supplies are kept stocked.  Levels are regularly monitored, and the need for additional supplies is communicated in a timely manner. The lab is kept clean and orderly.  This includes emptying trash, sweeping the floor, and wiping countertops. Lab equipment is maintained in proper working condition, and any issues are promptly communicated.

This is a Part-Time opportunity  1st shift and 2nd shift available 

Pay is $22-23/hr

The ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor’s degree in a hard-science field preferred (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Physics, etc); Associate’s degree or reasonable progress toward degree mandatory Good basic laboratory skills (pipetting, measuring techniques, reagent preparation, etc.) and comfortable working with chemicals Experience in a chemistry lab through classwork or a job preferred A basic understanding of GC use (or other similar analytical equipment) and maintenance would be highly valued Must have computer skills (able to use e-mail, Microsoft Word & Excel) Should be comfortable multi-tasking Pays attention to detail Conscientious and self-motivated; able to work without direct supervision Comfortable working alone Must be reliable and have reliable transportation to job site Must be safety conscious Must be able to read and adhere to procedures and policies
