Job DescriptionThis supervisory position serves as Team Lead within the laboratory. This role ensures efficient and accurate running of a fast-paced laboratory. Tasks include team scheduling, inventory management, training new staff, processing, and analysis of bacteriology samples, preparing for and assisting in audits and SOP reviews.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Regular attendance and punctuality.Direct reporting to laboratory director. Managing service supplies needs.Managing subcontracting services.Assist in internal and external audits.Train new laboratory staff.Assist in sample distribution.Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsMiminum Requirements:
BS in Biology, Chemistry or related field. Knows at least one of three analyses – PLM, Mold, PCM. Ideal candidates would have experience in all three.Has been previously present for previous NVLAP/AIHA assessments.Involved in Laboratory QAQC operations.Exceptional written and verbal communication skillsObtained at least 3 years of experience in a hands-on lab setting. A minimum of 2 years in leadership or lead role withing laboratory.Ideal candidate will also have:
Ability to adjust pace to accommodate sample volume while maintaining low error rate.Experience with QC data or calibrations.Strong computer, organizational and problem-solving skills.Effective oral and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivated, adaptable, and a positive attitude.Ability to follow instructions and comply with SOPs.Handle moderate stress in a fast-paced environment.Excellent leadership skills.Strong attention to detail. Additional InformationPosition is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed.
