Job Summary:

As a Laboratory Services Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring timely and accurate processing of tests and results. You will also maintain laboratory information systems and collaborate with various departments to optimize services and support patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the organization.
• Oversee the training and performance evaluation of staff providing laboratory services.
• Develop and implement laboratory policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure efficient and high-quality operations.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including CLIA, CAP, and OSHA standards.
• Oversee quality control and quality assurance programs to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and reliability in test results.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure laboratory operations meet regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Develop and manage the laboratory’s budget, including cost control and resource allocation.
• Oversee the procurement of laboratory supplies and equipment, ensuring cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality.
• Monitor laboratory billing and coding practices to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
• Maintain laboratory information systems (LIS) and other technologies to enhance laboratory efficiency and data management.
• Collaborate with other departments and healthcare providers to optimize laboratory services and support patient care.
• Develop and implement long-term strategies for laboratory growth and development, including the introduction of new technologies and services.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the laboratory and external entities, including regulatory agencies, accrediting bodies, and healthcare providers.
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s in Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• A business management degree in addition is advantageous and preferred.
• Certification from a recognized professional body, such as ASCP, or eligibility for such certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with at least 1 year in a management or leadership role.
Additional Qualifications:
• Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.
• Successful completion of background checks including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks.
• Completion of New Hire Orientation and all training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.
