Why this PRN role works + True PRN flexibility with variable shifts + Float role keeps the work interesting + Direct impact on patient diagnosis and care + Part of future-focused lab staffing plans + Strong team environment with autonomy built in What you will do as a Laboratory Prep Tech + Prepare and process specimens to support timely diagnosis + Load and unload centrifuges and store specimens correctly + Manage specimen preparation, inventory, and supply ordering + Print and work pending lists and locate specimens as needed + Verify patient identification and specimen accuracy + Accurately enter, order, and cancel tests in the LIS + Monitor and document equipment temperatures + Perform routine preventive maintenance and cleaning + Act as a liaison during daily lab workflow + Support training related to specimen preparation What you bring + Post high school education or vocational training in healthcare preferred + One year of lab, clinical, or pathology experience preferred + Working knowledge of medical terminology + Human anatomy and physiology coursework preferred + Strong organization and attention to detail + Ability to prioritize and work independently or with a team + Clear verbal and written communication skills + Professional judgment with confidential information + Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with ability to learn new systems About the work This role as a Lab Prep Tech supports a lab model built around teamwork, efficiency, and patient safety. You will work closely with CLS and CLT staff while owning the prep side of lab operations. If you want PRN work that stays interesting and keeps you connected to patient care, this is a solid fit. Shift: Variable (United States of America) Schedule: PRN Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed. PRN positions (also referred to as Casual, As Needed, or Per Diem) at Logan Health offer flexibility and are designed to provide coverage during busy periods, employee absences, and vacations, making them an excellent opportunity to support the team as needed.
