\nJob Summary
\nThe Manager of Lab supervises technical and support staff and oversees daily Laboratory operations. This includes ensuring regulatory requirements are met and monitoring test systems. The Manager also supervises staff activities, work assignments, hiring, termination, performance reviews, orientation, and professional development.
\nEssential Functions of the Role
\n\nManages the daily functions of the laboratory to ensure efficiency. Performs all delegated functions as defined by the facility CLIA Director.\nPrepares schedules, coordinates job assignments, and monitors personnel including the selection, orientation, training, assignments, evaluations, discipline, and discharge of employees.\nEnsures staff has the training, experience, and skills needed for their duties by coordinating education, in-services, and orientations.\nMaintains appropriate personnel and patient records in accordance with established policies and procedures.\nAssist with budgeting. Provide information about supplies, personnel, and equipment. Seek cost containment avenues. Plan long-term purchases or capital equipment.\nEstablishes and implements quality assurance programs and maintains standards and records that document compliance with regulatory agencies.\nEnsures the review of all quality control, proficiency testing, instrument maintenance, and quality assurance records, and any associated corrective action.\nProvides input/support in the selection/purchase of capital equipment and the development of yearly budgets.\n\nKey Success Factors
