Job Description

The Laboratory Equipment Maintenance Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for routine maintenance of laboratory equipment. This role ensures that critical instruments remain clean, functional, and available to support testing activities. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working collaboratively with laboratory scientists in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

Serve as the main point of contact for routine laboratory equipment maintenance needs.Refill incubator water on a routine schedule to ensure proper function.Coordinate and perform annual disinfection of incubators and biosafety cabinets.Conduct monthly freezer de‑icing to support optimal equipment performance.Coordinate and perform annual freezer defrosts.Communicate effectively with laboratory scientists to schedule maintenance around active testing and minimize disruptions.Perform additional responsibilities as needed and as time permits.

QualificationsAssociate's degree with 3–5 years of experience, or a high school diploma with 5–7 years of experience in an academic, biotech, or pharmaceutical laboratory environment.Demonstrated experience performing laboratory equipment maintenance is required.Strong oral and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.Excellent organization skills and strong attention to detail.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship 

Additional Information

The position is onsite, full-time, first shift, Monday through Friday. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes requiring shift changes and/or weekend work, and overtime may be required as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Cambridge, MA, are encouraged to apply.
