Job Description Purpose: The Laboratory Coordinator IV will support the daily engineering and operations needs of the Fuel Cycle and Materials Laboratory (FCML). Responsibilities: + Work with facility techs on various tasks. + Engage with researchers, faculty, and students to facilitate utilization of the laboratory. + Maintain facility utilization records. + Ensure safety training for all users and maintain laboratory compliance with applicable regulations. + Coordinate closely with various campus entities including EHS, MCF, etc. + Interface with instrument vendors as needed. + Support FCML national user facility transition. + Work with radioactive and hazardous materials that are utilized or produced at FCML. + Perform other duties as assigned. What we need: + Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Four years of related experience. What is helpful: + M.S. in nuclear engineering (focus on nuclear materials) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: + Strong capabilities in using materials testing and characterization instruments, applying engineering design software and data analysis tools, familiarity with computational tools (e.g., for modeling and simulation) in support of experimental design.
