**JOB PURPOSE:** Responsible for accurate entry and timely verifying of patient insurance and charges/coding and billing for laboratory services **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:** 1. Verify patient health insurance in a timely manner. 2. Ensure accurate entry of insurance information. 3. Ensure appropriate coding of lab services for submittal to third party for payment 4. Receive and post payments to patient accounts 5. Investigate or appeal and revise rejected claims for resubmittal. 6. Carry out all duties with a “Commitment to Caring” attitude in accordance with the company’s mission, vision, and philosophy. 7. Follow all company policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations and report violations to the appropriate supervisor. 8. File and organize all appropriate paperwork related to job duties. 9. Keep supervisor informed of daily activities, and issues. **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:** Should be detail oriented and well organized with excellent communication skills. **MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:** High School diploma; Associate Degree (preferred) **MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:** Minimum of two years coding experience or comparable medical billing background **Family Makes Us Stronger.** Our family, your family, one family.
