Laboratory Assistant Tech

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Northridge Hospital Medical Center invites a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our fast-paced Microbiology team as a Lab Assistant Tech. This role is crucial in upholding our laboratory's commitment to delivering precise and prompt diagnostic testing for our patients.

The Lab Assistant Tech will be responsible for a variety of essential laboratory support functions, including:

Accurately process all types of microbiology samples onto the appropriate culture media.Perform routine procedures such as plating, streaking, and inoculation. Assist with the preparation of reagents and media, and ensure the proper preparation and sterilization of laboratory equipment and supplies.Collect, process, and label patient samples following established protocols. Maintain thorough and accurate records and documentation for all laboratory activities.Clean and maintain laboratory work areas and equipment, strictly adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency.Familiarity with laboratory equipment, including microscopes, incubators, and autoclaves.Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and regulations.Fire Safety Card (CT Fire Card) must be obtained within 90 days required. 

Preferred: 

Six (6) months of laboratory clerical and/or phlebotomy experience in an acute care facilityCA Phlebotomy License Where You'll Work
