Laboratory Assistant
Laboratory Technician

Job Description

Perform sample preparation, digestion, and testing in accordance with written procedures for various types of water including groundwater, drinking water, surface water, wastewater, and storm water. Maintain competence, integrity, and interpersonal skills to meet regulatory and quality standards, and accurately document laboratory activities.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare and test samples following established procedures.Document activities using bench sheets or LIMS entries, maintaining data integrity.Manage samples and schedule tests to meet holding times and turnaround times.Operate and maintain bench-top instruments effectively.Review and countersign documentation to ensure compliance and accuracy.Dispose of laboratory waste according to disposal guidelines.Perform daily standardizations, calibrations, and performance checks on equipment.Follow company procedures for documentation, safety, and data security.Handle hazardous materials safely according to lab policies.Train or supervise lab procedures as designated by QC management.Identify and investigate unusual lab events or results.Conduct method validations and transfers.Monitor reagent and supply inventory.Carry out preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment.Clean laboratory glassware and maintain lab cleanliness.Participate in weekly team meetings.Essential SkillsStrong computer skills for training on specific software programs.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with laboratory practices such as sample preparation, reagent preparation, and data entry is a plusClear communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
