Laboratory Analyst - Quality - Sharkeya Plant

 

Job Purpose

Undertakes laboratory analysis to ensure that the quality of all the company’s beverages, raw material and packaging material meets local and global quality standards.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  Tests all types of water at least once a week. Handles analysis of bacteriology (pathogenic bacteria) and ensures that they meet required specifications. Takes samples from the malt mixer machine (of sugar and wart) to check if the mixer is up to standards. Takes aerobic and anaerobic samples from the buffer tank (for flavor) and follows an accurate process of analysis. Analyzes samples from filtered tank, beer tank, unpasteurized samples and pasteurized samples, etc. Tests the leftovers after boiling malt for salmonella. Ensures that they are safe for agricultural use. Coordinates the product  tasting sessions. Ensures that the quality of products’ taste and color is sustained through monthly analyses. Handles raw material acceptance based on Heineken’s requirements of purity, solubility, sugar level, barley, flavors, etc. Ensures that all packaging material such as cartons and bottles are up to Heineken’s standards with respect to weight, thickness, etc. Coordinates with the packaging engineer regarding any technical issues. Handles all purchase requests of the quality department by getting quotations, checking quality, selecting the supplier, and getting approvals. Follows up with the Plant Manager on purchase orders post-approval. Checks the quality of all received items, creates a receiving number and sends the receiving number to the purchasing department to ensure that the payment is covered. Handles the maintenance and calibration of all laboratory equipment in alignment with the LabStar System. Manages all microbiology related materials. Conducts quality checks on all four lines of the production (Packaging quality index, CO2 level, etc.). Assists the quality assurance manager in trials for new product flavors. Is a member of the Safety and Product Quality Total Productive Management (TPM) pillars. Handles Hygiene Order Cleanliness (HOC) audits in the plant. Maintains 5S standards in the main laboratory and the microbiology laboratory.

Educational Background

Bachelor degree in Science or Agriculture Engineering

Years of Experience

0 - 1 year of experience in FMCG industry

Qualifications & Other Requirements 

Good Command of English Language

Excellent Microsoft Office Skills
