Description
The Labor Relations Manager is responsible for managing a wide range of activities related to all aspects of labor relations, Union Organizing Campaigns, union benefits, assist in conducting training, supports Human Resources as situations are applied to union employees. Additionally this position acts as the liaison between Corporate and our clients on labor issues. The Labor Relations Director also plays a supporting role on the Corporate Workers’ Compensation Committee.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
•Administers and interprets various labor agreements, administers grievance procedures; provides labor relations support during contract negotiations; acts as a liaison between managers and union representatives; provides advice to managers and supervisors regarding interpretation and application of collective bargaining agreements.
•Responsible for approval and processing disciplinary actions and contract interpretation and application of suspensions and terminations.
•Establishes and maintains union employee records for recordkeeping and reporting purposes utilizing electronic data systems, files, etc., tracking of grievances, personnel transactions such as promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, etc. Responsible for managing seniority date and plant seniority date.
•Provides HR with complete PCNs or appropriate information to input in HR system and payroll system as needed for any union employee; rehires, transfers, last chance agreements, PTO, seniority dates, wages, benefits, etc. in accordance to collective bargaining agreement.
•Supports the company and Human Resources regarding all Arbitration, EEOC, NLRB, Civil Rights, etc. claims involving union employees and works with Legal Counsel regarding same as required. Interpret and apply equal opportunity laws, and provision of contracts, and other regulations or policies relating to human resources.
•Establish CBA increases, perfect attendance and PTO allocations. Provide all information to CFM payroll.
•Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of the department and services performed—cooperation in carrying out sound human resources management practices.
•Reports on Labor Relations matters to the Director of Operations and CEO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
This is a direct hire, $350 Health care contribution, Company car.
