Labor Relations Employee Relations Business Partner
Job Description The Employee & Labor Relations Business Partner will serve as a trusted advisor for employee and labor relations matters, managing union interactions, conducting workplace investigations, and ensuring compliance with labor and employment laws. This role supports both commercial and government contract divisions, working with employees from frontline staff to executives. Key Responsibilities  • Act as a primary resource for employee and labor relations issues, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements and federal labor laws.  • Handle union-related matters, including arbitrations, grievance processes, and dispute resolution.  • Conduct investigations into workplace misconduct, EEOC claims, and policy violations.  • Draft and review disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and corrective measures.  • Advise managers on labor laws, contract interpretation, and compliance requirements.  • Collaborate with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and enhance retention.  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).  • Support HR compliance, policy development, and employee engagement initiatives. Skills and Requirements • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required.  • Experience:   ○ Minimum 7+ years in employee and labor relations (10+ years preferred).   ○ Strong background in union negotiations, arbitrations, and grievance handling.   ○ Experience with EEOC claims and workplace investigations.   ○ Exposure to both commercial and government contracting environments helpful.  • Certifications: PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.  • Skills:   ○ Advanced knowledge of labor laws and collective bargaining agreements.   ○ Strong communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.   ○ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. ○ Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
