As a Labor Expert at ASML, you will play a pivotal role in conducting occupational research and providing thoughtful, well-informed advice to both employees and managers. Your core focus will be on absenteeism, illness, and reintegration possibilities—ensuring that every recommendation is both practical and empathetic. ASML is actively advancing its approach to these topics and is seeking an innovative professional with a proven track record in absence management. This role offers the opportunity to join the People Operations team and help shape impactful reintegration strategies across the company.
Role and responsibilitiesAs a Labor Expert, you will collaborate closely with health experts, company doctors, line managers, HR managers, and external providers to define strategies for managing illness cases. Your goal is to guide employees through reintegration in a supportive and compliant manner, ensuring alignment with Dutch laws and regulations.
Your key responsibilities include:
Conducting occupational research and, when necessary, initiating follow-up investigations
Providing well-considered advice to managers and employees to support a timely and sustainable return to work, while minimizing the impact on both the employee and the organization
Designing and proposing tailored interventions, and clearly documenting these in reports for employees and managers
Supporting appeal procedures related to illness cases
Acting as a sparring partner for health experts, HR business partners, managers, company doctors, and legal advisors in complex absenteeism situations
Education and experiencePost-HBO degree in Labor Expertise, with certification and registration as a Labor Expert
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Labor Expert
At least 1 year of experience working within a complex, international organizational environment
In-depth knowledge of Dutch legislation and regulations related to long-term illness and reintegration
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English
