What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities):
Empathetic Care Provider: Provide comprehensive, compassionate, and culturally sensitive nursing care to patients during all stages of labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum.Assessment & Monitoring: Conduct thorough assessments of maternal and fetal well-being, monitoring vital signs, fetal heart tones, contractions, and progression of labor.Labor Support: Administer medications, manage pain relief options (e.g., epidurals, IV medications), provide comfort measures, and implement non-pharmacological pain management techniques.Delivery Assistance: Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals during vaginal births, C-sections, and other obstetric procedures.Newborn Care: Provide immediate care to newborns after delivery, including Apgar scoring, vital signs, initial assessments, and promoting skin-to-skin contact.Postpartum Care: Monitor mothers for postpartum complications (e.g., hemorrhage), provide incision care, and support initial breastfeeding efforts.Patient & Family Educator: Educate patients and their families on labor progression, pain management options, newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery.Job Requirements
