As the Medical Transcriptionist, it is important to follow patient confidentiality guidelines and legal documentation requirements. **Essential Functions:** + Perform data entry and data retrievals services, providing data for inclusion in medical records and transmission to physicians + Produce medical reports, correspondence, records, patient-care information, statistics, medical research, and administrative material + Translate medical jargon and abbreviations into their expanded forms to ensure the accuracy of patient records + Review and edit transcribed reported or dictated material for spelling, grammar, clarity, consistency, and proper medical terminology + Perform a variety of clerical tasks, such as submitting insurance claims, typing, filing, and operating office machines + Other duties as assigned **Education:** + High School Degree or GED + Associates Degree in Medical Transcription preferred, not required **Certifications:** + Certified Medical Transcriptionist preferred, not required **Experience:** + Previous experience in a hospital or health care setting preferred, not required **Skills & Abilities:** + Strong communication and organization skills + Ability to listen intently to recordings for details + Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-pasted environment + Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner As a Bon Secours Mercy Health associate, you're part of a Mission that matters.
