Job Description

As a Lab Technologist, you will be responsible for performing laboratory testing assigned to the department. You are expected to maintain knowledge of all current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) required to perform effectively and maintain excellent communication with the Department and other Laboratory Services personnel. Competently performing all assigned departmental duties, you may engage in Pre-Analytical tasks such as receipt, qualification, and preparation of samples for testing. You will also perform CLIA waived tests, moderate and/or high complexity testing on patients, donors, or biologic products using routine chemistries, automated, or semi-automated methods with internal support systems. It is crucial to recognize and report unusual test results in a timely manner to appropriate management.

ResponsibilitiesPerform laboratory testing assigned to the department.Maintain knowledge of current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Communicate effectively with Department and Laboratory Services personnel.Perform Pre-Analytical tasks, CLIA waived tests, and moderate/high complexity testing.Recognize and report unusual test results promptly to management.Operate equipment according to protocols and quality control limits.Identify equipment malfunctions or technical problems and resolve them.Maintain strict adherence to SOPs.Prepare and maintain reports/records and perform computer data entry.Maintain departmental supplies within established inventory levels.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in a Life Science discipline.0-1 years of laboratory experience in academic or industry settings.Proficiency in laboratory operations and equipment handling.Knowledge in chemistry, biology, and medical laboratory practices.Understanding of CLIA regulations.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to work in a dynamic and expanding laboratory environment.Strong communication and organizational skills.Work Environment

The work environment consists of a warehouse and laboratory setting, operating on a night shift schedule from 7PM-7:30AM, Sunday-Tuesday with rotating Saturdays. The laboratory is large, well-lit, clean, and fosters a positive working atmosphere. Employees undergo orientation on Monday and Tuesday, followed by training on their regular shift starting Sunday.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
