Job Title: Lab Technician

Location: La Porte Plant, TX

Schedule: DuPont Rotating Schedule (12-hour shifts, rotating days/nights, including weekends and holidays)
 

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Lab Technician to support quality control operations at our La Porte Plant. This is a contract position with a duration of 3–4 months, with the potential for full-time conversion (not guaranteed). The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing samples, maintaining lab equipment, and ensuring accurate data entry into the LIMS system. This role requires flexibility to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities: Analyze production samples and report results accurately and promptly. Enter test results into the LIMS system in a timely manner. Perform daily instrument calibrations and report any issues to the QC Shift Leader. Communicate with Operations and other departments during night shifts to maintain lab functionality. Follow lab checklists and procedures to determine testing requirements. Allocate test results to the appropriate production processes. Support plant safety and compliance initiatives, including inspections, audits, and training. Qualifications:

Required:

High school diploma or GED. Either: 16 college credit hours in Chemistry (minimum grade C) and 12 hours in Math (minimum grade C), OR 3–5 years of relevant lab experience in lieu of college coursework. Ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, including nights and weekends.

Preferred:

Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). Prior experience in a chemical plant or industrial lab environment. Work Environment: This role is based at the La Porte Plant and follows a DuPont rotating schedule. Must be comfortable working independently during night shifts and in a fast-paced lab setting.
