Lab Technician
Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description Engage in sample testing throughout all stages of the life cycle of raw materials, while maintaining quality documentation and adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) protocols in a chemical manufacturing environment. Responsibilities + Perform raw material testing and chemical analysis using techniques such as wet chemistry, gas chromatography (GC), and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). + Analyze samples for raw material, in-process, and finished products. + Maintain GMP standards and accurately record batch records using SAP. + Utilize analytical instrumentation for testing including autoclave, viscosity, density, pH testing, and near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy. Essential Skills + Proficiency in raw material testing and chemical analysis. + Experience with wet chemistry techniques and analytical instrumentation. + Ability to perform melting point, viscosity, density, and pH testing. + 2 years of experience in food, flavor, or chemical manufacturing environments. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biological Sciences. + Experience with gas chromatography, NIR, specific gravity, and refractive index. + Knowledge of saponification, hydroxyl value, standardizing chemicals and solutions. + Familiarity with viscometer, calibration of weighing scales and balances. Work Environment Join a fast-paced, close-knit team working 12-hour shifts with flexibility for occasional night shifts. The work schedule alternates between 48-hour and 36-hour weeks. You'll be part of a small lab team, typically working alongside 1-2 other technicians at a time. The initial six-week training period occurs on the day shift from 8am to 4pm. Enjoy a lenient break structure, with the opportunity for short breaks as needed. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
