Overview
Specialty Chemical Company is seeking a Lab Tech to join their team in support of material development and testing. Our client is open to recent graduates looking to gain industry experience!
Responsibilities Prepare a high volume of catalytic materials for X-ray analysis (weighing, milling, pressing, fusing, and mounting) in accordance with standard procedures. Prepare chemical solutions as needed. Operate and monitor automated X-ray instruments, including both X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and X-ray diffraction (XRD); this includes proper sample loading and execution of instrument protocols. Perform routine maintenance and monitoring checks on laboratory equipment. Assist with data review and quality checks; report deviations from expected results. Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies. Perform, with supervision, complex sample preparations as needed. Provide support for special analytical projects outside the X-ray area as assigned. Adhere to all established safety and environmental guidelines; actively participate in safety-related activities.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Materials Science. Experience or familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Quality Assurance (QA) is a plus.
