We are looking to add a Team Leader to our Lab team. In this role you will serve as a lead/primary contact to ensure work is completed efficent4ly and safely. You will be part of a supportive caregiver family that will be united in shared values and purpose to fulfill our promise of being the best place to receive care and the best place to work in healthcare.
A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide day-to-day supervision or oversight of the laboratory operation. Resolve technical problems in accordance with policies and procedures established either by the Laboratory Director or Technical Supervisor. Monitor test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained. Maintain competency assessment documentation. Notify Technical Supervisor, Clinical Consultant, or Laboratory Director immediately of detected problems. Perform duties of a Testing Personnel as needed. Perform laboratory testing in a compliant manner. Maintain regulatory knowledge and awareness as it pertains to specific job duties. Assist manager with planning and organizing for the section. Assist with monitoring capital equipment, staffing standards and procedures maintenance, and the development and implementation of contingency plans to avert interruptions of service. Maintain technical quality assurance programs including assuring accurate testing and quality control. Maintain current standards and technical procedures manuals. Assure testing is in accordance with production schedule and variances are identified and resolved. Ensure timeliness and communicates valuable information to all department and personnel who interact with lab.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological clinical laboratory science OR medical technology from a four-year college or universityThree to five years of clinical laboratory training or experience, or both, in high complexity testingLaboratory training or experience and can be met by any combination of years of clinical laboratory training or experiencePreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Two years of clinical laboratory leadership role MT (ASCP) or ASCP eligible.Two years of clinical laboratory leadership roleClinical laboratory training or experience can be met by: Medical technology internship Full time experience performing non-waived testing for the required number of years Part-time experience performing non-waived testing, with 2080 hours equivalent to one yearPhysical Requirements:
Visual acuity to study specimens under a microscope.The ability to distinguish colors.Fine motor skills and manual dexterity to handle specimens and lab equipment required to process specimens and repair equipment.May be required to stand for long periods of time.Light lifting may be required.May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, biohazards, radioactive materials, etc.Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
