Lab Svcs Team Ldr

Work Schedule: Day shift

Job Responsibilities

Prepare slides for pathologists and external clients for interpretation.Perform tissue embedding.Eligible to perform routine and special microtomy procedures.Perform routine H&E stains, IHC, and special stains as applicable.Ensure reagents and solutions are properly dated and labeled and prepare and discard reagents/solutions per lab guidelines.Perform grossing of tissue specimens as applicable/needed.Tissue quality control material management.Perform quality control as outlined in procedures and maintain documentation.Operate and maintain histology instruments/equipment.Research, troubleshoot, and resolve inquiries or problems within the laboratory.Follow all technical standard operating procedures.Ensure logs are maintained daily and filed appropriately.Answer phone inquiries and take messages.Inventory control -- ensure a consistent supply of reagents and consumables is available.Archive materials per retention schedule.Assist with training of new hires.

 Requirements

Associates in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements – Bachelor’s degree is a plusMinimum 5 years of experience as a Technologist/TechnicianASCP and/or AMT Certifications are a plusPrior supervisory or leadership experience is a plusUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and proceduresProficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft OfficeStrong communication skills; both written and verbalHigh level of attention to detail with strong organizational skillsComfortability making decisions in a changing environmentAbility to handle the physical requirements of the position
