Job Description
This position plays a key role in supporting both laboratory operations and team leadership within a technical environment. The role involves overseeing daily lab activities, ensuring compliance and quality standards, and guiding team members to meet performance goals. It requires a balance of hands-on technical work and strategic leadership to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
ResponsibilitiesManage and coordinate the training program for laboratory staff.Conduct laboratory investigations and prepare reports.Perform environmental monitoring and collect samples, such as compressed gas and water, to support departmental needs.Coordinate equipment maintenance and calibration schedules.Review and verify laboratory data through peer review.Utilize the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for tracking samples, test results, and reporting metrics.Maintain the microbiological productivity database and generate monthly metrics reports.Conduct acceptance testing of commercially prepared microbiological culture media as needed.Perform microbial identification procedures when required.Direct reports, group leaders, and their teams in technical environments such as laboratories or manufacturing facilities.Promote and embody the company’s vision and values.Oversee scheduling, task allocation, and the onboarding process for new hires.Manage overtime and weekend work schedules as needed.Develop and implement team-building strategies and initiatives.Apply Lean principles to drive operational excellence.Supervise daily operations of the Quality Control (QC) analyst team.Coach, mentor, and support group leaders while monitoring team productivity.Assist in the professional development of group leaders.Coordinate and participate in interviews for new hires.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience.Minimum of 3 years of experience leading dynamic teams in a technical or laboratory setting.At least 3 years of hands-on laboratory experience; GMP environment preferred.Experience in microbiology, cleanroom operations, and management.Proficiency in environmental monitoring, aseptic technique, and quality control.Additional Skills & QualificationsClean Room ExperienceWork Environment
This position requires working onsite in a clean room/laboratory environment during the second shift from Monday to Friday, 2 PM to 10:30 PM. The role involves supervising 5 direct reports who each manage approximately 4 to 5 additional staff members.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $79000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
