As a Lab Patient Technician, you will be responsible for the specimen collection process, from greeting patients through to preparation of specimens for transportation. This is an important role in patient care and our business and will let you see the difference that you make in patients’ lives.
Status: Temporary Part Time (Float)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:45am - 5:30pm and Saturday, 6:45am - 2:45pm
Additional requirements: This employee will be expected to cover sick calls and vacation shifts across multiple locations. Their working hours will be from 6:45 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and from 6:45 AM to 2:45 PM every Saturday. The designated work sites include 1420 Burnhamthorpe Rd. E, 3025 Hurontario St., 101 Queensway, 170 Queensway, 2300 Eglinton, and 190 Sherway Dr

Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent are preferred. Phlebotomy experience is an asset. ECG training or experience is an asset Excellent communication skills. Good computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm. Strong customer/patient service with the ability to relate to patients and clients even in stressful situations Strong empathy, flexibility, adaptability to change, and problem-solving skills Ability to maintain the strictest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
