Job Description

Eurofins is seeking a Lab Operations Supervisor to join our Microbiology team to lead and support second-shift lab operations in a dynamic, GMP-regulated environment. This role blends hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, driving quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement across microbiology workflows.

What You’ll Do: 

Operational Oversight

Supervise daily microbiology lab activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standardsCoordinate equipment maintenance, calibration schedules, and environmental monitoringManage sample tracking and reporting using LIMS and internal databasesReview lab data and reports for accuracy and completenessSupport microbial identification and media acceptance testing as needed

Team Leadership

Lead and mentor Micrbiology Support Analysts, group leaders, and technical staffOversee scheduling, task assignments, and onboarding for new hiresManage overtime and weekend coverage as neededPromote team development through coaching, feedback, and performance managementApply Lean principles to optimize workflows and drive operational excellenceParticipate in hiring and interview processes

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field3+ years of hands-on lab experience, ideally in a GMP-regulated setting3+ years of leadership experience in technical or laboratory environmentsStrong understanding of lab operations, compliance, and workflow optimizationExcellent communication and team-building skillsAuthorization to work in the U.S. without restriction or sponsorship

Position Details

Schedule: Full-time, second shift (Monday–Friday, 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm)Additional Hours: Occasional weekends and overtime as neededLocation: Onsite in Rensselaer, NY — candidates within a commutable distance are strongly encouraged to apply.
