Job Title: Lab Assistant - Facilities & Safety SupportJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Lab Assistant to support facilities and safety operations through general cleaning, organizing, and implementing 5S activities. The role will involve sweeping roofs, removing debris, taping off areas, and placing signage for safe operations. The Lab Assistant will also support ongoing improvement activities within the facility. Responsibilities + Clean and organize lab spaces effectively. + Perform general cleaning and organizing of workspaces, including sweeping roofs and removing debris. + Execute 5S activities such as taping out floors, labeling, and organizing tools and materials. + Conduct 'make safe' operations including taping off hazardous areas, placing signage, and ensuring clear pathways. + Assist with facility maintenance and upkeep as needed. + Support ongoing improvement initiatives by collaborating with teams and implementing changes. + Follow safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions or incidents. + Operate basic hand tools and equipment safely and effectively. Essential Skills + Experience in general labor and facilities maintenance. + Proficiency in using hand tools. + Previous experience in a laborer, janitorial, or facilities support role is a plus. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent preferred. + Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. + Physical stamina to perform manual labor and work in various environmental conditions. + Experience in a pharmaceutical or GMP environment is advantageous. Work Environment The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor facility settings, and may involve working at heights or in confined spaces. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. The position is onsite and offers the opportunity to gain experience in a pharma/GMP environment. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
