What You'll Do

Have the overall responsibility for the strategy, planning and execution of our EU media relations and public affairs engagement.Develop, gain buy-in for and implement BCG’s EU comms and public affairs strategy, driving forward the pro-active media relations and institutional engagement programme whilst protecting our brandHelp to raise the profile of BCG’s experts and thought leadership in Brussels, as well as provide pro-active counsel and manage PR needs arising from local eventsHave experience identifying risk and navigating/monitoring sensitive issues playing out in the mediaServe as our primary press officer for Brussels-based proactive and reactive media engagementDevelop and maintain BCG's network of media contacts focusing on the global titles based in Brussels, national press, and key industry specialist titlesWork closely with our press teams in Amsterdam and London, handling incoming media queries and liaising directly with partners to prepare for and react to media opportunitiesWork alongside senior stakeholders to proactively monitor and manage reputational risk, provide strategic counselManage our local comms agency, including one off projects and longer media relations engagementCollaborate with global and European PR teams to drive a step-change in media relations across the businessWhere appropriate, proactively pitch story ideas from a busy pipeline of BCG research and published content, with a specific focus on the UKOversee the media training of BCG partners and experts and prepare them for media or policy interactions, including attending interviews and meetings, and preparing briefing documentsCoach, manage and upskill team members, as needed

What You'll Bring

A minimum of 6 years of EU/Brussels-based comms and/or public affairs experience ideally in a agency or similarBilingual in English and French, other European languages a plusA demonstrable experience building and enhancing strong relationships with target EU media, policymakers and think tanksGenuine interest and knowledge of the EU media cycle and policymaking ecosystemDegree level educated to a 2:1 level, or equivalent
