Amazon.com
Amazon Industrial Robotics is seeking exceptional talent to help develop the next generation of advanced robotics systems that will transform automation at Amazon's scale. We're building revolutionary robotic systems that combine cutting-edge AI, sophisticated control systems, and advanced mechanical design to create adaptable automation solutions capable of working safely alongside humans in dynamic environments. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of robotics and automation at an unprecedented scale, working with world-class teams pushing the boundaries of what's possible in robotic manipulation, locomotion, and human-robot interaction.
We need skilled CNC Programmers to help support the way we build and test our products and features in a start-up environment. You will work closely with research scientists, mechanical engineers, and hardware teams to machine precision components that bring next-generation robotic systems to life. If you are passionate about precision manufacturing, hands-on fabrication, and delivering high-quality parts for cutting-edge technology, we want to talk to you.
Key job responsibilities
- Program, set up, operate, and maintain 5-axis CNC mills and 5-axis mill-turn machining centers to produce precision components for prototyping and production
- Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAM software, ensuring efficient toolpaths, proper feeds and speeds, and high-quality surface finishes
- Troubleshoot machining issues and perform routine maintenance and calibration on CNC equipment
- Design and fabricate custom fixtures, jigs, and workholding devices to support production and assembly processes
- Collaborate with engineering teams to assess part designs for manufacturability and recommend design improvements
- Support machining operations and prepare materials for prototyping and production runs
- Source and procure cutting tools, raw metals, and consumables; manage tooling inventory and maintain stock levels of hardware and fabrication supplies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment in compliance with machining safety standards
- Generate process documentation, work instructions, CNC programs, and equipment maintenance logs
