Your Role:
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in organic, inorganic, or materials chemistry, along with expertise in analytical techniques and documentation. If you thrive at the intersection of technical expertise and process documentation, we encourage you to apply!
You will work closely with the Burlington Bioactive Small Molecule (BBSM) site chemists and collaborate to ensure timely completion and delivery of the following responsibilities:
Create R&D process orders, add raw materials to process orders, and request purchasing.Obtain raw material quotes from vendors, recommend additional reagents as needed, compare quotes, and request purchasing.Create Production Process Orders for new products.Review protocols, complete Technical Marketing Specification (TMS) pages, update SMART workbooks, and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) and recipes as needed:Protocols:
Check and revise raw material information by comparing it to vendor websites.Add chemical information to schemes as needed.Review analytical data/figures in protocols for Good Documentation Practice (GDP) errors.Edit protocol tables and schemes if changes are updated.SMART Workbooks:Update any old SMART workbooks to the new SMART workbook version.TMS Pages:Complete Technical Marketing Specification sheets (TMS) as per process.Update BOMs and Recipes:Request NPDI for advanced intermediates and alternatives, check for required components/raw materials, request quotes for raw materials from vendors, and create loading files for BOMs and recipes.
Who You Are:
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related chemistry field.Minimum of 1.5-2 years of relevant experience, preferably with a lab background.Documentation experience, having authored or co-authored peer-reviewed journal articles, protocols, technical reports, etc.
Preferred Requirements:
Good oral and written communication skills.Strong track record of stakeholder engagement.Proficiency in scientific visualization tools (e.g., ChemDraw or similar).Hands-on laboratory research experience in chemical synthesis or a related field.Experience in industry or cross-disciplinary collaboration in an academic, pharmaceutical, materials science, or chemical manufacturing setting.
