The Laboratory Coordinator assists in the oversight of the daily operations of the Pharmacokinetics Lab, directing the workflow and distributing tasks to the Research Laboratory Technicians, assuring that all areas of the Lab have appropriate coverage; that samples are properly processed and frozen in an efficient and accurate manner; and that all activities are properly documented. Ships specimens per PPD and other safety regulations.

What You'll Do:
• Oversee the technicians in the blood and urine areas, assuring smooth and efficient workflow. Prevent/minimize the occurrence of protocol violations.
• Ensure safety requirements are adhered to when handling and processing samples. Pack and ship specimens to clients and/or other labs as needed, ensuring safety and security per PPD policies and other safety regulations.
• Perform all duties of a blood harvester, urine monitor, and urine processor as needed. Audit Blood Harvest Logs to assure that all study samples are handled correctly per protocol specifications and/or PPD procedures. Review logs for clerical errors and proper completion. Verify and document the presence of all blood and urine samples as each study interval ends.
• Act as Lab liaison on specific studies as directed by supervisor. Interact with Study Teams, Project Managers, and other non-lab staff to assure that protocol requirements for the lab are being followed. Occasionally communicate with clients, explaining the various PK lab functions and activities.
• Maintain records of completed temperature and maintenance checks for all laboratory equipment. Determine equipment and supply needs. Monitor and evaluate lab processes, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations for alternative systems to improve performance quality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:
• High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
• Technical positions may require a certificate
• Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least 2 years) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.

Years of experience refers to typical years of related experience needed to gain the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Required Availability (Lab "All Shifts"):

This position requires flexibility to work across all shift types: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.

Training Requirement: All new employees must complete a mandatory training period during the 1st shift (typically 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM) for the first month of employment.

Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required by the department schedule.

Ability to respond to on-call requests and cover shifts on short notice is essential.

Willingness to rotate shifts and adapt to changing schedules as needed.
