Lab Assistant/R&D Tech Aston, PA Job Purpose The Lab Assistant shall assist the Laboratory Manager in performing the daily functions of the laboratory, including sample preparation, instrumental analysis by ICP or atomic absorption, titration assay for silver, and fire assay, just to name a few functions. Primary Job Responsibilities: + Sample preparation for ICP, Titration, Fire Assay & Film Assay + Clean, run and maintain ICP and AA + Conduct titrations and fire assays + Maintaining the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) + Ammonia testing with ISE (Ion Selective Electrode) + Inventory and order supplies for the lab + Contribute to analytical method development for non-routine materials + Prepare standards and reagents as needed for the daily analysis requirements + In the absence of the Laboratory Manager, perform the necessary functions normally done by the Laboratory Manager Requirements Background / Experience: + Education requirement: an Associate’s degree in a scientific discipline with laboratory experience or at least two years’ course work toward a Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific discipline with academic lab experience.
