Lab Assistant I
Job Title: Lab Assistant I Job Description A Lab Assistant will be working in a high-volume production-based environment performing a vital component of clinical lab science.' Schedule: Monday - Friday: 7:15-3:45pm PST Responsibilities + Receive and sort clinical lab specimens. + Prepare specimens for testing and analysis. + Scan and/or enter specimen and patient information into systems. + Ensure all lab equipment is functioning properly and perform minor maintenance on instruments. + Troubleshoot any specimen-related issues. + Replenish test bench supplies as needed. + Maintain a clean and safe work environment. + Complete record logs and other administrative tasks as requested. + Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards. + Be present in male restrooms while patients complete urine samples, without entering the stall. Essential Skills + Specimen processing and sample collection. + High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED). + Comfortable with being present in the room while a patient gives a urine sample. + 0-1 year of experience processing lab specimens. + Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills. + Ability to accurately identify specimens. + Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Previous medical, lab, or production experience is preferred. + Flexibility to work overtime as needed. + Comfortability with handling biological specimens. Work Environment The role requires working in a high-volume production environment. It involves being present in male restrooms during urine sample collection, maintaining a clean and safe workspace, and ensuring the proper functioning of lab equipment. Flexibility in working hours and the ability to handle extended periods of standing or sitting are necessary. Dress code is not specified. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
