Job Title: Lab Assistant - 3rd Shift
Job Description
This is an entry level role; no experience required. The Lab Assistant will be responsible for pulling samples out of storage or walk-in fridges and bringing them to technicians for retesting. This role involves significant labeling and pouring of specimens, with the handling of 200-300 samples at once. The position requires scanning samples into the tracking system and ensuring all lab equipment is functioning properly.
Responsibilities
+ Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
+ Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
+ Scan and/or enter specimen and patient information into the system.
+ Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
+ Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
+ Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards.
Essential Skills
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ Ability to stand for the majority of the shift.
+ Comfort with handling human samples.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Must be at least 18 years old.
Work Environment
This role is a contract-only position with potential for permanent opportunities in the future. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 11:30 PM to 8:00 AM, on the 3rd shift. The work environment includes light lifting and carrying, with the ability to lift and push 10-15 pounds at most. Majority of the shift requires standing and spending time in walk-in fridges, rotating duties to avoid prolonged exposure. The lab offers paid breaks and has a team of 8-9 day shift lab assistants. Growth opportunities exist within the team, with great trainers and leadership to support development.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
