Job Title: Associate Technical Trainer (Telecom/Data Center)
Job Description

The Associate Technical Trainer works as part of a corporate university team to deliver high-volume technical training to adult learners in the telecommunications and data center environment. This 100% in-person, onsite contract role, with potential for extension, focuses on delivering a pre-determined training program while serving as a role model for professionalism, ideal behavior, and excellence. The trainer collaborates closely with other trainers, subject matter experts, leadership, and stakeholders to assess training needs and support the successful deployment of next-generation infrastructure technologies.

ResponsibilitiesFacilitate employee training and onboarding using approved training materials and standardized curricula.Deliver technical instruction through lectures, hands-on activities, labs, and various assessments to support different learning styles.Provide remediation, coaching, and ongoing support to learners to ensure they achieve the required learning outcomes.Consult and collaborate with other trainers, managers, leadership, and subject matter experts to align training with operational needs.Track, compile, and analyze training data to produce accurate training reports and metrics.Document employee performance, participation, and training outcomes in accordance with established processes.Review, test, and provide structured feedback on existing and new training materials to improve content quality and effectiveness.Prepare and maintain training facilities, including daily setup, organization, and basic cleaning to ensure a safe and professional learning environment.Stay current on the latest data center tools, telecommunications technologies, and infrastructure best practices to keep training content relevant.Coordinate and monitor learner enrollment, class rosters, and training schedules to ensure efficient use of training resources.Develop and coordinate training schedules in alignment with operational priorities and capacity.Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and feedback from learners and stakeholders.Support the conceptualization, design, and development of new training materials and learning experiences.Communicate training needs, available programs, and online learning resources clearly to learners and stakeholders.Participate in mentorship and professional development opportunities provided by senior trainers.Explain complex, difficult, or sensitive technical information in a clear, respectful, and accessible manner.Travel as needed to deliver training or support training initiatives at different locations.Essential Skills3–6 years of experience in a technical field such as telecommunications, data centers, electrical work, or similar trades.Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical tasks to others, for example through experience as a field lead, trainer, or peer mentor.Excellent verbal and written communication skills suitable for adult technical training.Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with learners and various levels of management.Solid organizational skills and an inquisitive mindset to continuously improve training content and delivery.Willingness to obtain telecommunications industry certifications, such as BICSI, within the first 12 months of employment.High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.Ability to work full-time in a 100% onsite, in-person training environment.Ability to travel as required to support training delivery.Additional Skills & QualificationsBackground in telecom or data center operations that supports practical, real-world training examples.Experience working within a structured corporate university or formal training environment.Familiarity with adult learning principles and best practices in technical training.Comfort working with training assessments, surveys, and feedback tools to evaluate program effectiveness.Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for a corporate training setting.Openness to mentorship from senior trainers and commitment to ongoing professional development.Ability to manage multiple training sessions, schedules, and administrative tasks simultaneously.Work Environment

This role is 100% in-person and onsite within a corporate university-style training environment focused on telecommunications and data center technologies. You will spend at least 75% of your time actively delivering instruction to adult learners in classroom, lab, and hands-on training settings. The work involves regular use of computers and standard office software, as well as interaction with data center tools, equipment, and related training materials. You will be responsible for daily setup and basic cleaning of training rooms and lab spaces to maintain a safe, organized, and professional environment. The position may require occasional travel to other locations to support training initiatives. A professional appearance and demeanor are expected, reflecting the corporate and client-facing nature of the training environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
