Kroc Aquatics Manager (KAM) will provide oversight to all aspects of the daily operation
of the Aquatic Center; with specific attention to appropriate and successful staffing ensuring safety of this area.
Attention will be given to consistent staff training providing measurable outcomes for the department and center.

Responsibilities

The Kroc Aquatics Manager will ensure successful coverage of the Aquatic Center during center operational hours and lead the efforts of the Aquatics team to offer relevant programs and services to the community. Collaborating with the facilities team to ensure proper operation of the center’s facility as it relates to aquatic area. Additionally providing “hands on” oversight of the day-to-day operation of the Aquatic Center, with emphasis placed on staffing and physical plant operations. Develop and implement lifeguard schedules with emphasis on safety during all operating hours, provide supervision and leadership to all aquatics support staff in performance of assigned duties. Address complaints and/or provide corrective action involving pool patrons in an effective and professional manner.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Sports and/or Recreation Management, or related field. A minimum of 2 years managing an aquatics facility, with associated program development experience.
Willingness and understanding of the need to work nontraditional hours in support of the programs/services offered. Able to work with all ethnic and socio-economic populations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent management and leadership skills.

 

Current Lifeguard, CPR/AED, WSI and CPO certifications. Must complete PA State Mandatory Reporter Course.

 

As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.

 

Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army. Excellent organizational and time management skills required. Ability to work and relate well with people. Ability to resolve conflict in a professional manner, remaining calm in escalating circumstances.
