Partner with the best!As a Knowledge Management Technical Author, you will collaborate with engineers, subject matter experts and business stakeholders to develop high‑quality technical documentation and maintain digital KM platforms—primarily based on SharePoint. You will help shape a business‑wide system that enables collaboration, governance and efficiency across Flexible Pipe Systems (FPS) and other OFSE teams.
As a Knowledge Management Technical Author, you will be responsible for:Technical Writing & Content DevelopmentResearching and gathering knowledge from engineers and technical specialists to understand complex products, processes and systems.Producing clear, concise and technically accurate documentation including manuals, guides, communication materials, instructions and support resources.Applying translation responsibilities (English ↔ Portuguese) across the department.Reviewing, editing and simplifying existing documents to ensure accuracy, consistency and clarity.Creating diagrams, illustrations, screenshots and other visuals to support engineering explanations.Knowledge Management & Content GovernanceUpdating and maintaining libraries of technical information within CMS platforms and KM repositories.Ensuring documentation aligned with Baker Hughes standards remains up‑to‑date, correct and consistent.Supporting implementation of KM methodologies, continuous improvement and Lean practices.Identifying and eliminating roadblocks to knowledge sharing while promoting best practices.SharePoint & Digital CollaborationCreating, managing and updating SharePoint content, pages, templates and tools used across FPS.Supporting system efficiency through communication, training and stakeholder engagement.Coordinating upgrades, improvements and fixes within the KM environment.Stakeholder Collaboration & ConsultingMeeting with teams to develop documentation, templates and SharePoint content aligned with business needs.Reviewing new materials with users and experts to ensure relevance and quality.Partnering closely with FPS Chief Engineers’ Office and global KM teams.Advising on document formatting, intellectual property, branding, confidentiality classifications and export control requirements.Fuel your passionTo be successful in this role, you will:
Have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.Have fluency in English and Portuguese (written and spoken).Have proven experience as a Technical Writer, Technical Author or similar documentation‑focused role.Familiarity with Knowledge Management principles and methodologiesHave proficiency in MS Office and adaptability to digital tools used for documentation and collaboration.Have experience with SharePoint (coding knowledge is beneficial but not required).Have previous experience in the Oil & Gas industry or an equivalent technical sector.Have excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail and clarity.Have the ability to learn complex technical topics and participate in technical discussions.Have the ability to work independently and collaboratively with global, cross‑functional teams.Have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Have familiarity with Simplified Technical English (STE).Have an understanding of the Engineering Lifecycle.Willingness to travel internationally if required (desirable).Experience developing Power Apps, Power BI dashboards or Power Automate flows (desirable).Work in a way that works for you
