Kitchen Stewarding

Job Description:

A Kitchen Steward plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and order in the kitchen. The steward is responsible for cleaning dishes, kitchen equipment, and work areas, as well as supporting the culinary team with basic duties. This position ensures that kitchen operations run smoothly and comply with food safety and sanitation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dishwashing equipment or by hand. Clean all kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces, ensuring they are properly maintained and stored. Sweep and mop kitchen floors and dispose of garbage and recycling in a safe and hygienic manner. Restock clean items in their designated areas (e.g., dish racks, shelves, prep stations). Assist in setting up and breaking down kitchen stations as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization in dishwashing and kitchen storage areas. Report any maintenance or equipment issues to the supervisor or kitchen management. Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures, including proper use of chemicals and cleaning supplies. Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic tasks during busy periods, if required.

Profile Required:

Education 

Basic Apprenticeship

Experience

Minimum of 1 or 2 years in a similar position in a high volume internationally recognized luxury hotel chain or high-end food and beverage establishment.
