Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Hyperscale Data Center - Key Account Manager (m/f/d)
Position Objectives:
Drives the development and execution of the account plan that provides the customer with a fully integrated set of product, process, service, and technical solutions, which draw on Corning’s total value proposition to meet specific business needs. Maintains frequent contact with the customer and other ancillary companies (channels, contractors, OEM’s) to identify, build and strengthen the relationship, continually assess Corning’s effectiveness in meeting the customer’s needs, and ultimately maximize account penetration and customer retention. Stays informed of customer requirements and key buying factors and uses this knowledge to pursue profitable selling opportunities for current or next generation products and to modify account plans as needed. Collaborates locally and globally with Pricing, Product Line Management, and other functions to negotiate favorable agreements with customers. Leads successfully new country development, enabling global market share gains. Develops partnership relationship with key customers, enabling the expansion of our EMEA footprint. Work with the plant and the global team on improving SLA and processes. Ensure that all Corning Optical Communications’ business processes are followed.
Key Measures:
Meet or exceed budgeted sales levels for all products through regular sales calls to a targeted, balanced mix of end users, consultants, distributors and contractors generating a preference for Corning Optical Communications’ products. Maintain positive Customer relationships across key functional areas including appropriate Executive action. Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders across the Account ecosystem to identify opportunities at early stages and position the company as a trusted partner. Maintain and update Account Plans, Opportunities and activities for allocated region in the respective CRM database. Responsible for maintaining and creating the financial and product forecast monthly. Establish and maintain sufficient product knowledge of Corning Optical Communications’ products and their applications to recognize opportunities and communicate internally to achieve maximum advantage. Work closely with engineering, market development and product line management teams to align customer needs with product development and innovation strategies. Communicate competitive information obtained from all sources to specific Product Line Managers, Marketing and Sales. As a representative of Corning Optical Communications convey the highest level of professionalism in behavior and appearance, uphold Corning’s Values and help fulfill all Customer expectations of Corning as a World Class Supplier for Optical Fiber solutions.
Required skills:
Bachelor’s degree (technical) or equivalent in Business Administration, Marketing or related field. 3 or more years of sales experience preferably in the data center industry with proven success rate at levels above sales quota. Strong knowledge of the IT industry landscape, including emerging technologies, market trends, and key players. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze market data and trends to drive business growth. Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and presentation skills. Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Very good English language skills, any other language is beneficial. High flexibility and willingness for 3 to 4 days of business travel per week. The position holder must be able to work effectively from a home office base with minimum supervision
