Position SummaryVCA Wingate Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and team-driven Kennel Supervisor to lead our boarding and kennel operations. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a collaborative, patient-focused environment and is committed to upholding our hospital’s strong culture of positivity, support, and excellence in care.This is more than a kennel leadership role — it’s an opportunity to be a core part of a veterinary team that values integrity, communication, and shared success.ResponsibilitiesSupervise day-to-day boarding operations to ensure all pets receive safe, loving, and attentive care.Lead and coach a team of animal care attendants and kennel staff; support a culture of teamwork, accountability, and kindness.Coordinate staff schedules to ensure proper coverage, especially during peak times (weekends, holidays).Ensure facility cleanliness, feeding schedules, and enrichment activities are carried out to VCA standards.Act as the point of contact for client boarding questions or concerns; ensure seamless communication with veterinary and front desk teams.Monitor boarding pets for signs of stress, illness, or injury; escalate to medical team when needed.Train new boarding staff members, emphasizing safety, patient care, and our hospital’s culture of collaboration.Must be able to work evenings, weekend and holidays.Minimum Requirements• Prior Animal Care Experience.• Knowledge of dog and cat body language and behavior.• General animal care and handling experience.• You must be able to communicate well across different departments, with the hospital staff, and with clients. Communication is in-person, by phone, through client file notes, and via e-mail and text-message.• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Outlook, as well as basic typing skills is required.QualificationsMinimum 2+ years of supervisory experience in an animal care or boarding facility preferred.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to give and receive feedback constructively.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work in a physically active environment and handle pets of all sizes.Passionate about animals and creating a positive, low-stress experience for pets and their owners.Why Join VCA Wingate?Located in Englewood, Colorado, VCA Wingate Animal Hospital is a high-quality, team-oriented veterinary hospital that prioritizes a positive work culture.
